Dear friends and Supporters of BuSSy,

We are writing this today to share with you the decision to permanently stop the project activities.  The decision is the result of a number of factors, most important of which is our choice to prioritize the well-being and safety of the individuals working on the project. Over the past years, we have witnessed many achievements and upheavals, and it is time to take a proper break—not only to rest, but also to reflect. It will also give the team the chance to practice what we often preach in our self-care sessions and workshops: self-care is not an individual objective; it is a collective strategy and concern.

At a time when exhaustion and burnout are still glorified, and well-being practices are still viewed as a luxury or are added in the form of sessions for overworked staff members, the decision to go against all that was not an easy one.

It is also important to note that the entire context we are operating within has also become very draining: theatre spaces continue to become less accessible, cultural and feminist projects are forced to contend with many financial limitations, and actors deal on daily basis with numerous security risks. The impact of these factors has taken a toll on our personal and collective well-being.

Our online story archive will continue to exist and be accessible to everyone.

We are grateful to each and every one of you for believing in the work BuSSy has done, and we thank you for your trust and faith in us over the years.

And we truly believe that even if the project ceases to exist, the knowledge and experience passed on to others, will continue to grow and sprout amazing work in the field.

Seeds of change never go to waste.

May we all find the strength, resilience, and courage to do what is needed for ourselves and others.
