An incident I’ll never forget:
I was walking down the street where I live.
The street was dark and poorly lit.
A boy, who worked at the clinic in the building next to ours, had his fly open and his penis was sticking out.
He was flaunting it and showing it to people walking down the street.
What really got to me was the scream of the girl walking behind me.
She was in high school, so of course the moment she saw it, she screamed very loudly.
We were the only two walking down the street.
I went back and walked her to the other end of the street.
“I know very well how to deal with you,” I told the boy.
I went home and asked my husband to do something, and the boy was dealt with.
But what if there hadn’t been anyone present to provide help?
What if I had been in the girl’s place and hadn’t found anyone by my side?
What would have I done?
I mean I see things like this at least three or four times a day.
And sometimes you’re unable to find someone whom you could run to for help.
And sometimes you call out for help only for people to smile stupidly at you in return.
If you’re not brave enough to act, they’ll harass you!
