Reading was my hobby in middle school.
One day this hobby led me to a strange discovery.
I found certain books at home that I didn’t know who they belonged to.
We all used to live in one house.
We lived with my uncles and aunts.
The houses were all close to each other in our neighborhood.
One book I found was called Your Personal Doctor.
This book explained everything.
It was like having a doctor talk to you.
There were some weird things in it.
I thought I’d ask my science teacher since he probably knew these things.
I showed him the book.
But turns out the things I couldn’t understand in the book were problematic.
He sent me to the school principal.
“I don’t know where she got this book. We need to call her parents,” he said.
“But why?” I asked, “I was only trying to understand what’s in it.”
“This is not in the curriculum,” he replied.
