I was in a taxi with one of my friends.
It was nighttime.
And on the way, close to the police station in Nasr City,
An officer got up to stop our taxi when he realized a boy and a girl were sitting next to one another in the backseat.
“IDs,
And where are you coming from?”
Girl: We-
Officer: “You, shut up.
Don’t speak, or would you like us to escort you inside?”
Boy: “We go to university together, and we were studying.
She lives in the student housing area.”
I was silent because I didn’t want to be escorted inside.
Officer: “IDs.”
Girl: “We-”
Officer: “You, shut up.
Don’t speak, or would you like us to escort you inside?”
