The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth

They don’t want us to speak about what we see and hear.
They say that’s it’s improper and inappropriate.
But I’m forced to listen to it.
Why should I embellish an ugly reality?

You reminded me of two incidents.
One time I was walking with a friend of mine near City Stars.
Suddenly someone in a car passed by and shouted,
“I want to put my *&^%$ in your ^$*^$”.

A week later, in 26th of July Street in Zamalek,
Someone kept calling me: “Mademoiselle, mademoiselle.”
And the second I turned around, he said: “I want to put it in.”
I turned and thanked him for using appropriate language and not repeating his colleague’s sentence.

And by the way, if I didn’t know for a fact that those two words were going to be removed,
I would’ve written them, because I didn’t make them up.
I don’t want to have to use coarse language, but I don’t want to embellish the truth either.
You want to know what happens? There you have it.
