My experience with periods was pretty normal.
They told us about them in school.
I got my first period when I was in the 7th grade.
I was surprised and sad.
Then began the journey of pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and anxiety.
It’s painful every time.
I don’t face any problems at home, thank God.
They all know when I’m on my period.
My little brother even buys me painkillers when we run out,
And they give me watermelon and dessert to eat during Ramadan.
The problem is dealing with people outside of home;
In the street or at university.
I get very tired,
And I usually don’t know what to say,
Especially if I’m talking to a man.
I don’t know what I’ll do when I start working.
I love it, though.
I think it’s a blessing for us.
It protects us from diseases,
And gives us life.
I don’t understand why it’s always under attack..
