Don't You Want to Make Me Happy?

“Why don’t you want to get married?”
“I don’t feel like it.”
“When are you ever going to feel like it?”
“I don’t know. When God wishes.”
“Is there nothing we could do about it?”
“No. You can just pray.”
“I pray for you. But you should also try a little harder.”

Whenever I see my grandma, she grabs my finger and asks me the same question every time,
“When are you going to make me happy?”
“You’re not happy?”
“No.”
“How can I make you happy?”
“By getting married.”
“But what about my own happiness?”

Some time later,
“So? Do you feel like it yet?”
None of your friends are looking for a wife?”
“No, I have friends who aren’t looking for wives.”

My aunt:
“When are you going to settle down?
This unstable life will have to come to an end at some point.
Your friends will all be married and you’ll be alone.”
