Being left-handed made no difference in my life.
I eat, drink, write, and cook with my left hand.
I’ve been like this my entire life.
When I was 25,
For the first time ever,
Someone eating with me commented on this:
“You eat with your left hand?
That’s haram.
How could your parents let you do that?”
“They tried to change it,” I’d say.
“But that’s how my brain is wired.”
Then the mockery would begin.
“Try eating with your right hand,
Or will you spill food all over yourself?”
I just laugh now,
And continue eating like nothing was said.
