I want to be free.
I want to write whatever I want.
But all married women now have red lines they can’t cross.
“Now that we live together, you have to forget about writing,”
They’re told as soon as they get married.
Why can’t we just honestly express our admiration to men?
“I like you and I’d like to get to know you more. Let’s see if we could be together.”
I have conditions too.
I want to live in a home where I could find support.
I don’t want to be asked to do the house chores if the cleaning lady isn’t coming.
House chores and house expenses should be a shared responsibility.
My writings and my job do not concern anyone but me.
I don’t want to be told to wear baggy and long clothing.
I don’t want to hear those things.
