“You’re dark-skinned,
But you’re funny.”
“People who are dark-skinned,
Have the best sense of humor.”
That’s what I’m always told at any gathering.
This is a kind of social stereotyping.
I never understood the relationship between skin tone,
And sense of humor.
Mohamed Heneidy (an Egyptian actor) is light-skinned,
And funny.
People don’t just say that as a way of expressing admiration.
People have got to stop stereotyping.
I’m not saying that I never do it.
I try to be careful with what I say,
So I don’t stereotype people that way.
